Sintika Winery joined the list of Bulgarian wines in 2008. The wine complex is located in the heart of a region known for viticulture and winemaking since the time of the ancient Thracian tribe Sinti, who inhabited these lands between IV century BC and VI century AD.
It is this millennial history that is the inspiration for the naming of the winery and brings a constant boost in the quest to create inimitable Bulgarian wines.
Apart from this charge carried by the multi-layered history of Southwestern Bulgaria, Sintika Winery is also a direct successor of many years of tradition in wine production.
The foundations of today's modern wine complex were laid with the construction of Research and Development Facility Station in Sandanski in the middle of the last century.
Over the decades, the experimental agricultural center has developed many branches and variations of different crops, leaving a bright mark by creating unique varieties of grapes Early Melnik vine (Melnik 55), Melnik Rubin, Sandanski Misket and others.

As a successor of these traditions, since its establishment, Sintika Winery has strived to create high-quality, memorable and complex terroir wines with its own style, reflecting the specifics and uniqueness of the region.
For this purpose, Sintika uses the great potential of the local Bulgarian grape varieties, created here decades ago, as well as world varieties from its own vineyards.
The winery's own vineyards are located in an extremely favorable region along the Struma River Valley in the immediate vicinity of the Rupite area, the extinct Kozhuh volcano and the ancient Thracian city of Heraclea Sintica.
Sintika Wine Cellar has won dozens of awards from national and international exhibitions, including four Golden Rhyton Awards, awarded to Vinaria 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2016.
